Interested- Mentorship and Support
Professionals must understand various avenues to further promote personal and professional growth. This course will articulate the background of mentorship and support, as well as the importance of each in a learner’s professional development. It will examine personal influences on values, beliefs, and practice. The course will include various contexts of diversity, including culture, race, gender, age, and disabilities, and how diverse mentorship and support from others can further promote a successful experience in mentorship. Participants will understand several theorists’ views on adult development, principles of coaching and mentoring for professionals, development of S.M.A.R.T. goals, identify mentor skills, and analyze the theory of leadership. Participants will apply personal soft skills, proper feedback communication, and ethical conduct in the development of mentoring others. Upon completing the course, learners will develop a personal growth plan for professional development and support.
