Are leaders born or created? This course will discuss various theorists’ research on leadership development and effective leadership qualities. It will also discuss typical ideas about leadership; analyze and discuss theories; compare leadership styles; discuss typical barriers in leadership; evaluate DEI practices and issues; understand the difference between management and leadership; and examine the nature of intention and its relationship to leadership. The interactive session will allow participants to become familiar with personal leadership styles and specific traits necessary to further build in their field of choice. They will also apply the session’s knowledge into scenarios, activities, and team building exercises. Upon completing the course, participants will seek opportunities to change and improve, develop a database of leadership traits, evaluate their unconscious intentions, and incorporate feedback into development commitments and plans.
